A study was performed to evaluate the oxidative stress status of follicular fluid and the oocyte quality in females with polycystic ovary syndrome undergoing different ovarian stimulation protocols. It was reported that use of d-chiro-inositol was associated with a decrease in oxidative stress level. Moreover, a higher number of good quality metaphase II oocytes was also noticed. Thus, it was suggested that d-chiro-inositol displays a statistically significant positive impact on follicular milieu by reducing oxidative damage on follicular fluid proteins and recovering good quality oocytes.
